Combative Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has unwittingly provided aggrieved Igbo youths with political ammunition to eliminate the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Eastern Nigeria, the axis of Biafra agitation in Nigeria.
Wike has been acting as a bulldozer since he became governor in 2015, talking as he wishes, and always seeking to foist his will on his party. This time his stance on the 2023 presidency is drawing the ire of Igbo youths.
The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Ohanaeze Youth Council ( OYC) has vowed to ensure a total collapse of PDP in Igboland if Wike, succeeds in the plan to make another Northern fly the flag of the party in the 2023 presidential election.
Wike has been saying that PDP stands a chance of winning the 2023 presidential election if his counterpart in Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, emerges as the presidential candidate of the party.
For OYC, Wike’s call and support to another Northern President for Nigeria in 2023 is regrettable, unfortunate and a plan that will sink Nigeria.
National President of Ohanaeze Youth Council, Igboayaka Igboayaka, berated Wike and challenged him to dare it, and see the collapse of PDP and Nigeria, stressing that No PDP flag will stand in Igbo land or any Igbo dominated Area in Nigeria if they dare to deny a South-Eastern PDP presidential ticket in the 2022 primary election.
While he described the support of Wike to Mohammed to emerge as the presidential candidate of the PDP in 2023 as a childish and irritating demand, Igboayaka told Wike that Nigeria is standing on a Redline of political survival or political death, and what will redeem Nigeria at this time of political suffocation is a sophisticated Nigerian president of South-East extraction in 2023.
“Nigeria is suffering from a political pandemic that will lead Nigeria into the grave, but the only viable Vaccine that is required for prevention is a Southeastern emerging presidential candidate of PDP.
“Gov. Wike is acting like a child who is bathing only on his belly he is ignorant of political instability and anarchy that will befall Nigeria if they go on with their desperate conspiracy to deny South-East PDP presidential tickets during their primary election.”
Igboayaka advised PDP that Ndigbo are the only tribe in Nigeria that have given their best and loyalty to PDP since 1999 till date, therefore every reasonable PDP loyalist and Leader will not hesitate to walk on the path of equity, justice and peace by ceding their presidential tickets to South-East.
