Barcelona young star, Ansu Fati has averred that wearing the Jersey number 10 is a great challenge for him considering those who have worn it in the past and how they performed.
It would be recalled that former Brazilian star, Ronaldinho and Argentine skipper, Lionel Messi have worn the Jersey for the club in the past.
Fati, who is just returning from injury was given the Jersey number 10 following the departure of Messi to Paris Saint German.
In a statement shared by Viva Barca on Facebook, Ansu, while thanking the club and fans for the honour, said the Jersey number 10 poses a huge challenge to him.
Ansu Fati: “It’s an honour to wear the number 10. I want to thank the Club. Wearing that number is a real challenge given everything it represents; both Leo and Ronaldinho wore it, among others. It’s added pressure, but that’s part of being in the first team.”
“The first day I touched the ball in recovery I started to cry. My father and my brother came to training and they also cried.”
“My parents and siblings have been key. They’ve been at my side the entire time. it would have been much tougher without them. It was harder to see my family suffer more than myself. My brother asked me “when are you going back?” every day and not knowing what to tell him was really difficult. However, this helps you to mature and want to get back even more.”
“I also want to thank all my teammates that have been there for me throughout in everything. It’s all made everything easier to be honest.”
“I really appreciate Barça fans, because they have made me feel that I am not alone during this process. I have always received affectionate messages with them saying they can’t wait to see me back. It’s a real positive during recovery, giving you a boost to work to get back.”
