REVEALED: Gov. Ishaku stayed away for over 2 months due to “domestic accident”

Following the controversy surrounding Taraba governor, Darius Ishaku’s prolonged absence from the state, the government has come out with the reason behind his long absence.
Several media channels have reported the backlash from interested persons, the social media buzz and the opposition APC in Taraba over the continued absence of the governor.
And only recently, the Taraba APC Chairman, Barr. Ibrahim El-Sudi accused Gov. Ishaku of abandoning the State and called for his impeachment.
He said: “We are not happy or comfortable that we don’t have a governor now because there are things the deputy cannot do in the absence of the governor.
“Everything is now at a standstill in the state; activities at the ministries have come to a halt’’, he said.
While accusing the state assembly of failing in its responsibility to call the governor to order, he said if the lawmakers fail to do the needful, he would take them and Governor Darius Ishaku to court.
But in a press statement issued on Thursday, by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Gov. Ishaku, Bala Dan Abu, disclosed the fact that Gov. Ishaku was in Abuja for that long due to a “domestic accident he suffered”, of which he is undergoing treatment in Abuja.
According to him, the APC was casting aspersion on “the Governor’s prolonged stay in Abuja which was necessitated by an unfortunate domestic accident he had earlier suffered. As a result, His Excellency has had to stay back in Abuja to receive medical attention”.
Even though Abu did not reveal the nature of the domestic accident, but admitted that the governor had “been conducting his official duties diligently” in Abuja.
“What the people expected is for APC leaders to acknowledge and praise Gov. Ishaku for diligently ensuring the smooth running of the affairs of the state despite his accident” he added.
