The national sports festival has been approved by Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 to take place between 3rd-17th of January 2021.
This development was reached at a virtual meeting on Thursday. The new date was arrived at during a virtual meeting between the  Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, and the PTF to address issues on how the sports festival would be a reality.
The festival which was tagged EDO 2020 was first slated for March 2020, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it was shifted to December 3rd, 2020, but while exploring a lot of things that need to be put in place, it was then shifted to January, so as to have enough time for proper planning.
There will be proper planning ahead of the event and enough testing kits to diagnose all athletes that will participate in the event, organizers noted.
