The Nigeria Police Force on Friday, declared twelve persons wanted in connection with a case of conspiracy, murder, armed robbery, act of terrorism, kidnapping, cultism, unlawful possession of firearms, house breaking, burglary and malicious damage in Isuaniocha Community, Awka North Council Area of Anambra State.
The suspects are all male of Igbo extraction with ages ranging from 25 years to 55 years old and are natives of Isuaniocha, with heights between 1.5m to 1.7m.
The community has in recent years been torn into crisis over a land-related issue, with about three persons allegedly killed in connection with the issue.
Correspondent Kenechukwu Ofomah can confirm that sale and resale of lands has become a very lucrative business for youths of the community who no longer engage in any other meaningful venture.
A statement issued today by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the wanted persons also engaged in conducts likely to cause breach of public peace in the community..
The statement read thus-
“The Nigeria Police Force hereby declare wanted the following twelve (12) persons-
“Edward Okoye (aka Stone), Onyemazi Ngini, Nonso Eboh, Chukwujekwu Anaekeokwu, Chinedu Nwoye Okoye, Cosmos Okonkwo, Donatus Okeke, Onyebuchi Nwekeizu Okoye, Chukwuka Onyibor, Chuka Ilodigwe, Nonso Awusionwu Obinna and Chukwujekwu Okoye.”
The statement said the Police had earlier secured a court order to declare wanted the suspects.
“Edward Okoye (aka Stone), had in conjunction with others shot two men dead – one Ifeanyi Anazoba (aka Ichafu) and one Chukwuebuka Amodo (aka Mutum) at a burial function in Umuzuocha Town Hall, Awka South of Anambra State on 19th January, 2019, beheaded them and burnt their bodies beyond recognition. He also kidnapped two others, and vandalized two properties valued at over 1.2 billion Naira.
“The suspects equally attacked and brutalized some mobile police officers detailed to restore calm to the community,” Adejobi said in the statement.
The Police urged well-meaning members of the general public to assist the police with useful information which would facilitate the arrest of the suspects and ensure they are brought to justice.
“The Force further assures that justice would not just be done in the matter, but would be seen by all parties in the matter, to have been done as the police will leave no stone unturned in unravelling the ugly and criminal incident,” the statement said.
