PDP Calls For Anambra Information Commissioner’s Arrest Over Spurious Comments

Awka – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra state has called for the immediate arrest of the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C.Don Adinuba and an aide to the State Governor, Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe.

The call for the arrest of the duo, was following their utterances on the violence that ensued during a ‘Walk 4Health’ program, organized in Nnewi earlier this month, by an aspirant of the PDP, Valentine Ozigbo.

Adinuba in a press statement, had accused the PDP of haaving a trademark of violence, chronicling the series of violence suffered by the state during its reign from 1999 to 2006.

Obigwe on the other hand, was notorious for defamatory and unverified online posts.

The Publicity Secretary of PDP in Anambra State, Mr Nnamdi Nwangwu on Sunday, noted that the two men from their utterances since the materials of PDP governorship aspirant’s ‘Walk 4Health’ program were destroyed in Nnewi, show that they have something to tell security operatives.

“Immediately, we raised the alarm over the attack on the ‘Walk4Health’ materials, it was the flippant evangelist who alleged that the attack was self-inflicted. This position was also maintained by the Commissioner for Misinformation in his watery press release.

“In another statement made by Obigwe, he actually claimed that he knew those who perpetrated the criminality of destroying the materials for the health program but this time around, it is no longer a case of self-inflicted injury,” Nwangwu noted.

According to him, it was interesting that since the ugly incident happened, other political parties and their governorship aspirants have officially condemned the incident except the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) that maintained a sealed lip.

Nwangwu said,” it has become imperative now for security operatives to arrest the ‘self-appointment Public Relations Officer (PRO) of APGA’, Obigwe and Commissioner for Misinformation, C.Don Adinuba since they know so much about those responsible for the attack”.

The Anambra PDP image maker urged the security agencies to effect the arrests with dispatch so that the perpetrators would be brought to book and as well serve as a deterrent to other like-minded fellows who may want to tow their path of destruction.

Nwangwu maintained that no amount of campaign of calumny will stop PDP in the next Anambra State governorship election, claiming that the people of the state have seen that to continue with APGA government would be suicidal.

“APGA today stands for all that is evil, during the last party primaries to elect the flag bearers for Senatorial and House of Representatives election, it was only in APGA primary that there was pandemonium.

“First at Ekwulobia Township stadium, it was a show of shame for APGA during the primary to elect their senatorial candidate. This was followed by another violence at Ekwusigo Local Government Area Secretariat Ozubulu venue for primary for House of Representatives flag bearer and because of the violence in Ozubulu, the venue for the primary was moved to Beverly Hills Hotels Nnewi.

“Again, it was war at the hotel as APGA could not conduct a peaceful primary for their House of Representatives aspirants, one of the APGA aspirants, Sir Humphrey Nsofor and the then DSS Director in Ekwusigo Local Government Area allegedly sustained gunshot injuries from APGA thugs. All these are in the public domain.

“APGA should tell us what happened to the former Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Mr Christian Madubuko who was allegedly kidnapped the moment he said he was tired of working with APGA government” Nwangwu said.

He appealed to the Anambra electorate not to allow APGA extend their reign as was seen in their previous outings to the 2021 governorship election, saying that time has come for Anambra people to show APGA the way out due to abysmal failure in governance.

Nwangwu reassured Anambrarians that the new Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is poised to give the state quality, responsible and responsive government everyone would be proud of.
