North Korea has once again test fired a new weapon which is described as a tactical guided weapon. Tactical in the sense that, it is a short range weapon, not the long range ballistic missiles that have been seen as a threat to the US.
This is the first launch since the US and Vietnam summit back in February which ended without an agreement.
While spearheading the launch, the nation’s leader, Kim Jong Un described the event as having significant importance, according to him, “The development of the weapon system serves as an event of very weighty significance in increasing the combat power of the North Korean army”.
After a failed nuclear disarmament summit in Hanoi between Mr Kim and President Donald Trump earlier this year, the two sides have had little reported contact.
