Kidnapped Ex-Anambra Commissioner Found Near IPOB’s ESN Location In Abia

Awka – The former Commissioner for Tourism and Diaspora Affairs in Anambra State, Dr Christian Madubuko who was allegedly kidnapped since the 13th of last month, has been found.

Last week, kinsmen of the former Commissioner from Anaku staged a protest in front of the State Government House in Awka, during which they demanded to know why government and security agencies were yet to do something about their missing kinsman, over 14 days after his disappearance.

The protesters had called on the state government to ensure that their son returned alive.

However, today, a source close to the family confirmed to TNC correspondent in Awka, that the kidnapped Commissioner was found when soldiers stormed a bush in Isuochi, Abia State, blindfolded, with his hands and feet tied.

According to the source, the place is located in the area where the Eastern Security Network of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) operates.

“Madubuko was found in the early hours of Sunday inside a bush at Isuochi. I can confirm that. And he is alive,” the source said.

The source further revealed that the former commissioner is presently hospitalized, adding that the family will issue a statement on the development soon.

Meanwhile, when contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, Haruna Mohammed said he was not aware that the kidnapped commissioner has been found but will find out.
