Ossai Ovie Success, an aide to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has urged Nigerians to desist from the habit of insulting politicians.
In a statement on Facebook, Ossai corroborated his counsel with scriptures that enjoin the masses to pray for their leaders.
The governor’s aide averred that no matter how bad a leader is, the followers are not in a position to insult him but rather pray for such a leader.
He wrote:
“Don’t insult politicians, pray for them.
“As a people, it’s our duty to pray for politicians irrespective of the leadership qualities they are operating with.
“You gain nothing by insulting your leaders but will gain a lot by praying for them.
“The Bible which is our perfect example admonished us to pray for our leaders.
“We are not to pray for good leaders alone but also our bad leaders.
“After all we all voted for the bad and good leaders that we have in our country and we can’t change it once they are elected.
“So all we need to do is to pray instead of insulting them and their families.
“Only prayers will change the mind of our leaders toward doing what is right for our nation.”
