Defiant Abaribe Says Nothing Can Stop Him from Being Abia Governor in 2023

Defiant Senate Minority Leader who is representing Abia South Senatorial District, Enyinnaya Abaribe, says nothing will stop him from succeeding Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State in 2023.

This is even in spite of the fact that Ikpeazu has disassociated himself from his alleged endorsement of the senator’s governorship ambition. There has been a response in which he boasted that he would be the next governor

The unshaken Senator Abaribe spoke after a grand civic reception in his honour by Nzuko Ahiaba la Abayi clans in Obingwa and Aba North Local Government Areas.

He said he had already formally informed Ikpeazu of his ambition to succeed him come 2023 as a mark of respect for constituted authority, pointing out that he believes his future political ambition should be made known to his Governor who is the number one citizen of his state.

Abaribe who is popularly known as Mmagha Ndigbo (The Igbo Sword of War) urged the people of Abia State to get ready, as he is determined to lead the state to glory come 2023.

”So, what I am telling Ndi Abia (Abia People) is that they should expect ‘Mmagha Ndigbo’ as their next Governor in 2023″, he said.

Abaribe who was earlier at the reception conferred with the chieftaincy title of ”Maduforo Nde Ngwa” (A true remnant of Ngwa clan) expressed delight over the recognition.

The senator said the honour would spur him into more patriotic actions for not just his constituency but the state, Ndi Igbo and Nigeria at large.

Abaribe who said he had suffered persecutions because of his stance against injustice and oppression, declared that no amount of persecution would deter him from standing with the truth.

“I have gone to DSS custody because of Nigeria. I have fought many wars. And my people have looked at my antecedents and decided to honour me. They should expect more of those qualities in me.”

Chairman of the occasion and former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, described Abaribe as a vibrant and seasoned lawmaker.

Wabara acknowledged that Abaribe who succeeded him at the Senate had posted tremendous achievements at the red chamber.

Another former Senate President as well as former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, said Abaribe had remained an irrepressible voice at the Senate.

Anyim who described Abaribe as a resourceful Senator and an asset said he the Senate Minority Leader could be trusted for any higher responsibility

The Paramount ruler of Nzuko Ahiaba la Abayi, HRM Eze Nwabiarije Eneogwe, who conferred the title on behalf of other monarchs within the area, said Abaribe had distinguished himself a voice not just for his constituency but for the Igbo race.

He described Abaribe as an illustrious son of Ahiaba la Abayi and prayed to God to grant him success in his future political ambition.
