Former Governor of Gombe State, Senator Danjuma Goje, was on Friday blocked from entering the state by thugs and miscreants. According to reports, the former Governor of Gombe State had left Abuja on Friday morning for personal engagement only to encounter thugs who were already waiting for him. The remains of a customs officer kidnapped on Tuesday in Ogun State has been found. Recall that a custom patrol team was ambushed by suspected smugglers at Yewa South Local Government Area of the state and kidnapped two customs officers in the process. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has announced 310 new coronavirus infections in the country. The NCDC in a tweet via its Twitter account on Saturday said that confirmed coronavirus infections in Nigeria has risen to 68,937. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday announced 155 new COVID-19 cases in the country. The health agency gave the update on its official Twitter page. This means Nigeria now has 66,383 confirmed cases of coronavirus, and 62,067 persons have recovered. The public health agency said the death toll in the country has risen to 1167. It noted that the 155 new infections were reported in twelve states in the past 24 hours. An Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has convicted six Nigerians over alleged funding of Boko Haram. The conviction was upheld by the appellate court after they lost an earlier appeal at a lower court. It was gathered that Surajo Abubakar Muhammad and Saleh Yusuf Adamu were sentenced to life imprisonment.
