“When you first meet old people at dawn, kindness will attend you that day; if a teacher, knowledge; if a market woman, favour; but if a group of comedians, then laughter and comic relief”. The afore-quoted popular saying is true to the recent political script which seems to have been handed down to Senator Magnus, Ngei Abe – former Rivers South/East Senator and Hon. Igo Aguma, a former member of the House of Representatives, following the release of the latest episode from their catalogue where Igo Aguma was seen in a room presiding over a meeting of himself and another dramatic personae, Livingstone Wechie and thereafter came up with a very comic media publication which purports the suspension of Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi and Leader and Founder of APC in the entire Niger Delta Region, Senator Andrew Uchendu, former Ag. Nat’l. Chairman of the APC, Victor Giadom, Caretaker Committee Chairman of the APC, Rivers State, Isaac Ogbuobula, from the party amongst others.
Explaining the short comic display by Abe and his co-Actor Aguma which justified Chief Rochas Okorocha proponent of School of Iberberism, Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze said the entertaining actions are merely for the purpose of evoking laughter from the audience and nothing more. This latest episode by the duo justifies them to join the Actors Guild of Nigeria for further training and Skill Acquisition.
He said having shown their huge talents and endowments in the entertainment industry, it is only justifiable and fair to recommend Abe, Aguma and others to AY, Basketmout, Bovi and other established comedians, for further grooming and rudimentary training to enable them live-out their dream career and set them up for life, rather than allow them wander aimlessly and polluting the polity with jokes, stressing that the political atmosphere is too critical for melodramatic actions and clowning.
For the records and clarity purposes, the party chief said, Aguma, who has been parading himself as Rivers APC Caretaker Committee Chairman has since lost the locus to so act given that the judgment of the High Court which constituted statutory members of the party into CTC and imposed Aguma as Chairman has been suspended by the Court of Appeal since Thursday, July 16, 2020 in Isaac Abott Ogbobula v Igo Aguma & Ors
Recall that the Appellate Court had in a unanimous ruling by a panel of Justices, stripped Igo Aguma of the powers and legality to continue to lay claim to the Rivers APC CTC Chairmanship and that rulling is subsisting and remains in force until the Supreme Court rules otherwise.
Eze cited excerpts from the records of the Court’s ruling which divested Aguma of the powers to act in the Rivers APC chairmanship capacity thus:
The proceedings in this appeal CAPH/190/2020 is hereby stayed sine die.
The execution or further execution of the Order of the trial court in Suit No.:PHC/4355/2019, which suit is subject of this appeal, is hereby stayed pending the determination of this appeal.
From the foregoing, the party Chief said it therefore follows that no legal basis exists on this planet upon which Igo Aguma can continue to act or purport to act in that capacity, having been unclothed with legality and stripped naked in the market place by the Appellate Court which made an open show of him.
He said the self-centered moorings of Abe, Aguma and others succinctly and clearly exposes them as mercenaries of the Peoples Democratic Party and Gov. Wike, hired to ignite and sustain hostilities in the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, noting that Aguma has been receiving some handsome rewards from the Governor who has been awarding him contracts, including the renovation of Government Craft Centre in Port Harcourt.
He said Abe was equally compensated with some Commissioner slots where he nominated some of his allies into the Rivers State Executive Council for sustaining the crisis and giving the PDP and Gov. Wike an effortless victory in the 2019 general elections.
Dismissing the purported suspension of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, Chief Giadom, Sen. Uchendu and Barr. Ogbobula as a joke taken too far, Eze counseled the public to ignore Aguma and his band of saboteurs whom he accused of feeding fat on the crisis describing them as conflict entrepreneurs who have since been shown the way out as they no longer have any business in the All Progressives Congress.
