AIG Mohammed tasks PCRC executive to sensitize youths on peaceful conduct

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in-charge of Zone 13, Ukpo, AIG Danmallam Mohammed has charged members of the Zonal Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) to sensitize youths on peaceful conducts.
Mohammed gave the charge while inaugurating the executive members of Zone 13 PCRC on Wednesday at Ukpo, in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra.
According to Mohammed, the current situation in the country in the country is tensed and the youths must not allow themselves to be used by desperate politicians.
“Advise our youths especially those who may want to cause trouble or endanger the lives of others in the guise of #EndSARS in Anambra and Enugu to desist from such plans. Please spread the message of peace, unity and patriotism. We should not allow what happened in some war-ravaged countries happen to Nigeria because the country will not remain the same,” Mohammed said.
The AIG condemned the activities of hooligans, who have hijacked the current protest in the country, saying that nobody knows how the consequence will end.
He said as a democratic nation, youths should resort to dialogue in resolving every issue to sustain the peace in the country.
“Government should in fairness be given the chance to resolve the #EndSARS demands,” he added.
The AIG assured the committee that the zonal command will partner with them to ensure that the people of the zone enjoy a peaceful environment.
In their separate remarks, the Anambra chairman of PCRC, Chief Ikechukwu Ezenwankwo and his Enugu State counterpart, Dr Ezeme Nnaemeka promised to collaborate with the zonal Police headquarters to fight crime.
“In whatever capacity we can, we pledge to help the police zonal command to fight crimes and criminality as well as protect lives and property,” Ezenwankwo said.
Also, Nnaemeka cautioned against fake PCRC members, whose job is to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
In his acceptance of remarks, Mr Chris Okeke, the Chairman of the newly inaugurated zonal PCRC executive, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for supporting community policing nearer the people.
Okeke, who also commended the AIG and Gov. Willie Obiano for their security efforts in the area, promised to collaborate with the Nigeria Police Force to further improve security in the zone.
