Abba Kyari Investigation, Still Ongoing – Police Reveal

The Nigeria Police Force has denied reports that the investigation on DCP Abba Kyari has been concluded, saying it is ongoing.

Kyari who was the head of the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team, was indicted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI for alleged abuse of office and corruption, following revelations from alleged internet fraudster popularly known as hushpuppi.

The Police hierarchy had announced the suspension of Kyari from the Force, pending the conclusion of the work of a Special Investigation Panel set up on the matter.

There have been claims that the Police authorities have received the report of the panel and swept it under the carpet.

However, in a statement on Tuesday, the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mbah debunked the allegations, stating that the investigation is still ongoing.

“The Nigeria Police Force wishes to inform the general public that the probe into the alleged indictment of DCP Abba Kyari by the FBI, being conducted by the NPF Special Investigation Panel (SIP), is still ongoing.

“Members of the public are enjoined to note that the panel has not submitted its report to the Inspector General of Police, as being wrongly reported in some news outlet and online platforms.

“The Force hereby reassures the public that the outcome of investigations by the probe panel would be communicated accordingly upon conclusion of the investigations,” he stated.
