9 more COVID-19 patients discharged in Bauchi, cases rise to 224

The number of Coronavirus infection in the Bauchi state now stands at 224 while 9 more patients were on Tuesday discharged.

With the newly discharged, the number of treated and discharged patients has risen to 121 as of Tuesday, 19th May 2020 as contained in a situation report released by the COVID-19 Emergency Operation Center of the State Ministry of Health.

According to the State COVID 19 situation report, the state recorded two new confirmed positive cases, including a severe case from Warji and Bauchi local government.

The State Commissioner of Health, Dr Aliyu Maigoro Mohammed said that the situation is now getting better in the three local government areas of Zaki, Katagum and Giade, adding that the lockdown is paying off.

“We have achieved the objectives of the total lockdown order, normalcy is gradually returning to the area and by the grace of God, things will get back to normal,” he said.

The Commissioner assured that government will continue to treat all those who test positive to the infection adding that as soon they are certified fit by testing negative, they will be discharged and reunite with their families.
